Schenker Korea Ltd opened its doors in 1997 to the booming business in South Korea. It is a joint venture company which emerged from the previous agency agreement between Schenker International AG, Germany and Cheon Woo Express Co.,Ltd.,Korea.

Today, Schenker Korea is capable of offering both its domestic and foreign customers the full range of international freight forwarding services, i.e. Air and Sea Freight, Project, Fairs & Exhibition, Removal and Car's PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection). Warehousing (bonded & non-bonded) including customs clearance, EDI controlled Inventory, pick and pack, documentation and distribution, is provided by Cheon Woo Express, creating synergies in the areas and fields of the business where Schenker Korea is not present or cannot be active due to local regulations. This in particular provides for a competitive edge as only a limited number of forwarders in Korea is capable of offering all the above services in a one-stop shopping fashion.

In terms of the Schenker's network, Schenker Korea aims to increase its contribution to the Pan Asia and Transpacific development in addition to establishing a strong relationship to the markets such as Europe and the CIS.

In order to achieve these ambitious targets, Schenker Korea is striving for customer oriented concepts with the highest emphasis placed on the value added service and for the existing business, this includes for example PDI for exporting car manufacturer as well as custom-tailored lead time analysis for deliveries of electronic consumer items on a door-to-door concept basis.
